Manage automated log cleanup and weekly report jobs
Overview
Schedulers run background work for log retention and weekly reporting. The Installation Assistant can start both jobs during setup. You can also manage them later from Log Settings and Notification settings.
Available Schedulers
| Scheduler | Runs | Purpose | Managed From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Log Cleanup Scheduler | Daily at 2 AM org time | Deletes old File Scan Logs, URL Scan Logs, and Audit Trail entries based on retention and max entry settings | Log Settings and Installation Assistant |
| Weekly System Report Scheduler | Mondays at 8 AM org time | Sends administrators a weekly email with scan activity and optional issue sections | Notification settings and Installation Assistant |
Log Cleanup Scheduler
The log cleanup scheduler applies retention rules separately for each log type.
| Log Type | Cleanup Rule |
|---|---|
| File Scan Logs | Deletes records older than the file scan retention period and trims the oldest records when the max entry limit is exceeded |
| URL Scan Logs | Deletes records older than the URL scan retention period and trims the oldest records when the max entry limit is exceeded |
| Audit Trail | Deletes entries older than the audit retention period and trims the oldest entries when the max entry limit is exceeded |
Use Start log cleanup Scheduler and Stop log cleanup Scheduler in Log Settings to control this job.
Weekly System Report Scheduler
The weekly report scheduler sends a summary email every Monday at 8 AM org time when weekly reports are enabled.
The report can include:
- Scan activity from the last 7 days.
- License issues grouped by user.
- Critical system activity events.
Use the weekly report controls in Notification Configuration to enable report contents and start or stop the scheduler.
