The cleanup scheduler runs daily at 2:00 AM org time. It removes entries older than the configured retention period and trims the oldest entries when a max entry limit is exceeded.

Use Start log cleanup Scheduler and Stop log cleanup Scheduler to control it. To verify the job in Salesforce, go to Setup → Scheduled Jobs.

See Schedulers for details about all automated jobs.

Considerations

StorageHigh scan volumes can consume significant storage. Monitor your org's usage.
Audit TrailExport important audit data before cleanup if you need long term records.
PerformanceVery high max entry values may slow down the Reporting page. Use reasonable limits for your org size.
